What is Inflammation?

Definition from the Greeks - Internal Fire

Definition from the Romans- Heat, Swelling, Redness, Pain & Mobility of Joints Reduced.

Generally speaking, inflammation is associated with pain and in today's world is often treated with Aspirin, NSAIDS, & Steroids. All of which can lead to more inflammation, hormone disruption and inhibition of nutrients. *Notice it's rare that "diet" is used as a form of treatment -as it's so overlooked.

What usually leads to Inflammatory Reactions?

  • Microbial Colonization (bacteria, viruses, parasites)

  • Injuries/Traumas

  • Diet

Silent Inflammation

Silent inflammation is in (my opinion) what's making people ill and the root cause of disease. Illnesses associated with "silent inflammation" include:

  • Obesity

  • Type 2 Diabetes

  • Heart Disease

  • Cancer

  • Alzheimer's

  • Asthma

  • Allergies

  • and any disease ending in "-itis"

Ironically, after personally dealing with autoimmune issues from having Breast Implant Illness,  diet was never something that was discussed with any of the physicians that I went to.  Granted, I had what most would consider a "healthy diet", but it wasn't based on any knowledge of what my body needed at the time.  My "healthy diet" was really just based on what the general population would call "eating clean."  A truly healthy diet means I am feeding my body what it needs to heal based on my specific  blood chemistry, my symptoms, and the inflammation happening in my body.

When we treat disease or illness with prescriptions and even supplements without really understanding what our body needs from a nutritional standpoint, all we are doing is "managing our symptoms."  We are not "treating the illness."  This is the honest reality. That's why people are told by their doctors that they need to stay on prescriptions for the rest of their lives.

I'm not sure about you, but that answer doesn't work for me!

Does my experience sound familiar?  My Metabolic Balance coaching programs can give you specific information about your body's nutritional needs to reduce inflammation while also working on other factors that influence whole body health such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Spiritual Nutrition, Fitness, and more.  I'd love to talk with you about your experience and goals.
