Explants: Did you do the Right Thing?

Are you doubting your explant decision?

Not feeling like a million bucks like social media promised you after your explant?

Wondering if you will ever feel "better/normal" again?

Early into my healing/detox journey, I was hit with a harsh reality...this shit is NOT what I expected.  Where was my energy, my beautiful perfect and glowy skin? Why don't I feel sexy like all those girls I'm seeing on Instagram?

While some women do recover quickly from Breast Implant Illness, in my opinion, it is NOT the majority. If you had your implants in for a number of years, the damage that was done took years, and now that your body has the opportunity to "recalibrate" it could take some time.

It is absolutely okay to feel frustrated, angry, sad, resentful...all the things! But you have to work on your mind first and foremost if you want to heal. You have to work WITH your body in a loving and accepting manner if you truly want to heal. .

Okay so How??

Here are a few things that you may find helpful:

  • Talk to your body in a loving manner. - "My body is working for me."  "I am healing little by little each day."

  • Surround yourself with your support team and keep going! - I don't just mean your partner or loved ones, I mean doctors, acupuncturists, therapists, healers in general, coaches, nutritionists, etc. I have found that leaning on a team of people has allowed me to be kinder and softer with myself. You don't have to do this alone.

  • Remind yourself that your journey is unique! - You have heard me say it before, this is not a cookie cutter healing process. What works for others, may not work for you. Approach your care as uniquely as you are.

  • Focus on BASICS! - Proper Nutrition, Quality Sleep, Quiet Time, Hydration, & Movement.

  • Journal! - Write that shit down! It helps, it works, and it gets it out of your head. I promise, the more you journal, the more gratefulness you will find.

  • Stop doing things the way you used to. - This was a big one for me. You have a whole new body, and you have to approach things as such. The things you used to do may not work for you now and that's ok! Try new things, get uncomfortable, try different modalities - it will lead you down the right path.

  • Focus on what HAS improved! - Sometimes healing feels like 1 step forward, 10 steps backwards. It is so important to not lose sight of what has improved. Your body is listening to your thoughts.

Xo,

Rachel

P.S. I always want to hear about your story. Sometimes it helps to talk. Remember you are not alone.
